The John Deere 2038R is the flagship of the 2R Series compact utility tractors, designed for landowners with 5-20 acre properties who need more horsepower, lift capacity, and attachment versatility than sub-compact models offer. With 4WD, diesel power, and compatibility with a broad implement ecosystem, it handles mowing, hay operations, loader work, grading, and heavy tillage.

Power comes from a 37.3 HP (27.8 kW) 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine with a 2-range eHydro™ hydrostatic transmission featuring Twin Touch™ pedals, eThrottle™, Motion Match, and cruise control standard. The Category 1 three-point hitch lifts 1,356 lb at 24 in. behind the link arms.

Standard features include the H130 front loader compatibility (1,190-lb lift capacity), power steering, wet disc brakes, mid/rear PTO, CommandARM-style controls, and an optional premium factory cab with heat and A/C.
